5 things to do in York over Christmas
Charity of the Month: The Snappy Trust
Each month we are going to promote a York-based charity with the aim to raise awareness and support them. This February we are promoting The Snappy Trust (Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York). Snappy offers playtime and recreation for children and young people with disabilities.
With several play and activity sessions a week for people with disabilities aged 5-25, Snappy is an incredibly noble cause which is dedicated to empowering children and young people with disabilities. Their aim is to make children and young people feel safe, valued and happy by raising awareness about the importance of inclusion, acceptance and empowerment in disability.
How can you help?
Volunteer: The Snappy Trust are looking for enthusiastic, friendly people to share their time, skills and ideas. Projects run through school holidays, weekends and continuous fundraising events on both weekends and weekdays. If you’re interested (and over 16 years old) check out their volunteering page here.
Fundraising: As a small charity they rely on their supporters fundraising efforts from individuals, groups and businesses. If you’re interested in fundraising get in contact with them with the details below or check out their JustGiving page. Also you can check out a Gallery of peoples fundraising efforts so far here.
